Dr. Wei Gao is a visionary in biomedical engineering and wearable biosensing technology, bringing his expertise as Co-Founder and Board Member of Persperity Health. A tenured professor of Medical Engineering at Caltech and the Ronald and JoAnne Willens Scholar, Wei is also a Heritage Medical Research Institute Investigator in Caltech’s Division of Engineering and Applied Science. His research has consistently pushed boundaries in non-invasive health monitoring, specifically through his innovative work on sweat-based biosensors.
Wei’s academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UC San Diego, where he was both a Jacobs Fellow and an HHMI International Student Research Fellow. From 2014 to 2017, he further honed his expertise as a postdoctoral fellow in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley. His research, published in top scientific journals and awarded by leading institutions, forms the scientific backbone of Persperity Health’s personalized hormone tracking technology.

With over a decade of experience in healthcare innovation and technology commercialization, Shiv Shukla leads Persperity Health, a pioneering medtech startup dedicated to personalized hormone tracking solutions. Backed by a Bachelor’s in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and Biomedical Engineering from UC Davis, Shiv has made it his mission to harness advanced health tech for real-world impact.
Before Persperity Health, Shiv founded Neuralace Medical, where he revolutionized chronic pain treatment through Axon Therapy, a device he developed after discovering its foundational technology at UCSD and the VA. Over six years, Shiv raised $14 million to bring Axon Therapy to market, achieving FDA clearances and redefining neuropathic pain care. Today, Shiv channels this innovation-driven mindset into Persperity Health, developing breakthrough hormone tracking technology for fertility and menopause, empowering women with real-time, actionable insights into their hormonal health.
